The internet has taken over my life. I work online, I communicate online and watch hours of YouTube videos. Last year I decided to get back to reading books. Some of the books were on Kindle and others were hardback/paperback books. I had forgotten how much I enjoy reading. I love reading true crimes, biographies, history and self-help.
I feel guilty doing something for myself because I feel I could be doing something more productive. Now I allow myself to read for a couple of hours on the weekend. I find it very rewarding and relaxing. Reading also helps you build your vocabulary and that is something I can really use.
I have seen people say they want to read more this year. Some people have goals to read 40 books a year! That is a goal I find to be extreme for me. So I am setting a goal for ten books. I am a slow reader so ten seems about right for me.
I finally got around to purchasing, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing By Marie Kondo. This book has been out for a couple of years now. I am probably the only one who has not read it. People tell me it is life changing. Honestly, I do not want to be one of those people who has a “capsule wardrobe”. I love fashion and beauty and want a lot of options. However, I tend to hold on to things for too long and I could use a big spring cleaning. I need to change my ways.
I will let you know what I think and if it changed my life. If you have read this book, let me know what you think of it.
