I struggle with how personal I want to get here. This blog isn’t really about my life outside of fashion/beauty. However, when I see something in my life that can benefit others, I am all for sharing. Here is a brief run down on what is going on with me and what I am doing about it.
My relationships are complicated. Mainly because one is long distance and the other is with a friend who I have feelings for the past few years. In the case of the friend, I couldn’t ask for a better friend. He is a wonderful man who isn’t perfect but he has the things I want in a man except he doesn’t have the same feelings as me. Sometimes I find him to be more like a boyfriend than just a friend, but that is where the lines get blurred. On his side, he is clear (I think) about what he wants from our friendship. I have accepted it the best I can by finding another relationship with someone else except they are long distance. I actually am not going to get into the long distance relationship in this post.
So what I am dealing with is unrequited love.
It has been a long time since I picked up a relationship self-help book but I find myself reaching for a couple of books I have reached for in the past. My younger self loved the books by Greg Behrendt. They are easy to read and feels like a friend setting you straight. His newest book, It’s Just a F***ing Date: Some Sort of Book About Dating is one I have not read yet. I am not sure about dating again so this book will be on my list.
The book, Loves Me…Not: How to Survive (and Thrive!) in the Face of Unrequited Love by Samara O’Shea, is one book I do plan on reading as soon as possible. The reviews on this book looks good and sounds like a book that will help me be able to move on.
The rest of the books I have listed below are books I have read in the past that have proven to be very helpful. Check them out and let me know if you have read any of them or plan too.
